At Backpacking Beckett, our goal is to create meaningful, screen-free adventures for children through our monthly travel letter subscription. Because our product is a time-based subscription that includes printed materials mailed each month, our return and refund policy is slightly different from standard retail products.

Please read the policy below before purchasing.

Subscription Purchases

Backpacking Beckett subscriptions are billed in advance for the full selected term:

  • Monthly Subscription
  • 6-Month Subscription
  • 12-Month Subscription

Subscriptions do not renew automatically unless selected prior to the expiration date.

Customers may manage or cancel their subscription at any time through their Shopify customer account portal.

Refund Eligibility

Due to the nature of our subscription service and the cost of printing and mailing materials, we generally do not offer refunds once a subscription period has begun.

However, we may provide refunds or credits under the following circumstances:

Eligible Situations

A refund or replacement may be issued if:

  • Your order was placed accidentally and you contact us within 24 hours
  • Your first letter has not yet printed
  • The product arrives damaged or defective
  • A letter was lost in transit

In these situations we may offer:

  • A replacement letter
  • A partial refund

Refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

Canceling a Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

When a subscription is canceled:

  • You will continue receiving letters through the end of your paid billing period
  • The subscription will not renew

Example: If you purchase a 6-month plan and cancel after Month 2, you will still receive the remaining letters but will not be charged for a renewal.

Returns

Because our products are printed letters and paper goods sent through the mail, we do not accept physical returns.

If you experience a problem with a shipment, please contact us and we will gladly help resolve the issue.

Incorrect or Incomplete Address

Customers are responsible for providing a correct mailing address.

If an order is returned due to:

  • Incorrect address
  • Incomplete address
  • Failure to pick up mail

Customers may request reshipment, but additional shipping fees may apply.

Lost or Missing Mail

If a letter appears to be missing, please contact us within 30 days of the expected delivery date.

We will work with you to determine whether a replacement can be sent.

Gifts

Gift subscriptions are non-refundable once the first letter has shipped.

However, we are happy to help with address corrections or delivery adjustments if needed.
