Backpacking Beckett sends monthly travel adventure letters designed to help children explore the world through story, geography, and curiosity. Because our product is a subscription delivered through the mail, shipping operates on a monthly schedule rather than traditional order fulfillment timelines.

Shipping Schedule

Backpacking Beckett letters are shipped once per month.

  • Orders placed before the 1st of the month will typically begin shipping that month (i.e. an order on March 31st will ship the month of April and usually be received by middle of the month).
  • Orders placed after the 1st of the month may begin with the following month's shipment depending on production timing.

This schedule allows us to prepare and print letters in batches so that all subscribers receive the same monthly adventure together.

Delivery Times

Once letters are mailed, typical delivery times are:

  • United States: 3–7 business days

At this time we do not offer shipping outside the U.S. We hope to branch into international letters by 2027.

Delivery times may vary depending on postal service delays, holidays, or weather conditions.

Backpacking Beckett ships through the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs may include:

  • Standard monthly postage
  • A one-time onboarding or welcome shipment fee

Shipping rates are displayed at checkout when applicable.

Address Accuracy

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate mailing address.

If a package is returned due to:

  • Incorrect address
  • Incomplete address
  • Failure to pick up mail

Customers may be responsible for additional shipping fees to resend the shipment.

Address updates can be made through your Shopify customer account portal.

Missing Mail

If you believe a letter has been lost in the mail, please contact us within 30 days of the expected delivery date. We want all our little explorers to receive their letters.

We will work with you to determine whether a replacement can be sent.

Because our product is shipped via standard postal mail, occasional delays may occur, but we work very hard to get them to our readers as timely as possible.

Gift Subscriptions

Gift subscriptions are shipped according to the same monthly mailing schedule.

If the recipient address needs to be updated before the first shipment, please contact us as soon as possible at support@backpackingbeckett.com and give us as many details as possible for us to help you.

International Shipping

In the future, Backpacking Beckett may offer international shipping to select countries.

International customers are responsible for any applicable:

  • Customs fees
  • Import taxes
  • Duties required by their country

These fees are not included in the purchase price.
